Welcome to the Bigfork Art and Cultural Center 2021

As the newly elected Chair of the Board, I invite you to join us at the BACC as we sprint into our spring/summer season of art and culture.  If you hurry, you can still catch the Forms and Fiber show now on display through Saturday.  The fiber works in this gallery display are explosions of color and design created by our Montana artists. You will scarcely believe some are fiber creations, or craftily sewn expressions. A sight to behold, for sure.

Beginning May 8, The Bigfork Arts and Cultural Center, in collaboration with Love Lives Here Indigenous Allies, will present Expressions of Resilience.  This display will showcase the creative genius of Indigenous women throughout Montana, whose work is often underrepresented in galleries and art shows.  The show will include contemporary works of art, traditional crafts, and be interspersed with poetry, music, and other art forms.

As we emerge from the quiet of 2020, we find ourselves in a community exploding with new residents and preparing for a bustling tourist season! As you’ve heard, we’re stirring things up at the BACC.  Change was inevitable after the past year, and we choose to embrace that change and eagerly look to future challenges and opportunities. This is a time to grow and gain new insight into how we might improve and enhance our representation in the community.  As we bid farewell to our Board Chairman, Holly, and our Executive Director, Laura, we wish them both the best as they cast their lines in new directions after leaving their marks on BACC.

_____________________________________

Though my time at BACC is coming to an end in a couple of weeks, I have loved every minute of this job, not so much the COVID minutes, but all the others for sure. I am so proud of the great things we accomplished together and am happy to have played a part in the success of this longstanding organization.

Despite what 2020 threw at us, BACC is stronger than ever with a bright future ahead. I wouldn't be leaving if I didn't feel that you, our artists, our volunteers, and our supporters weren't in great hands. Rest assured that you are. The incredibly talented Veronica Rodriguez will be taking over the day-to-day operation of the shop and our volunteer program and I'm certain the next director will be a great addition to the BACC team as well.

In closing, I must say that one of the absolute best things about my time here has been getting to know you - this wonderful community that is BACC - our artists, our volunteers, and our friends. Your talents, your creativity, and your generosity blow me away! I have loved seeing your work sell in the shop or in a show and I'm so happy to have been part of your experience at BACC. I've made wonderful friends here and look forward to continuing those relationships down the road.
